On Airport: JFK Redevelopment Update
The groundbreaking event occurred recently for a $9.5 billion, privately financed New Terminal One. It represents a 2.4 million square foot, a state-of-the-art new international terminal that will anchor the south side of John F. Kennedy International Airport and create 10,000 jobs, including 6,000 jobs in construction.

A new feasibility study of the air cargo supply chain process at JFK Airport makes a case for how a new, connected airport-wide Truck Flow Management System (TFMS) would streamline cargo operations for the on- and -off-airport logistics community, save time, money and fuel, and improve quality of life for residents, business owners and workers in the surrounding community.
Round 2 of Scholarships Offered for Spring 2022
GatewayJFK is proud to offer a second round of scholarships in Spring of 2022. The two Scholarships are needs-based scholarships given to a graduating high school senior or currently enrolled trade school student or current undergraduate/graduate student.

Between April 5th and July 15th, 2021 the GatewayJFK Connection provided over 10,000 rides for employees and community members traveling to or from the Springfield Gardens neighborhood to Downtown Jamaica.

GatewayJFK Launches Security Patrol
On Monday October 5th 2020, GatewayJFK launched a new security patrol to help keep our neighborhood safe and vibrant. The goal of the patrol is to provide extra eyes on the streets to prevent burglaries, illegal dumping, and graffiti.
GatewayJFK Distributes 6,000 Masks & PPE to Local Business
This June GatewayJFK went door to door across the district to distribute over 6,000 masks, face shields, and safety information to offices, warehouses, and restaurants in the vicinity of Rockaway Blvd. in Southeast Queens.
GatewayJFK sends 745 meals to frontline workers; supports local restaurants
During the week of April 27th, 2020 GatewayJFK sent 745 meals from restaurants in our neighborhood to frontline workers at Jamaica Hospital, the MTA, DSNY, Wildcat Sanitation Services, the NYPD, and the Port Authority Police Department.

Dieusita Jean named new Operations manager at GatewayJFK
In order to help improve services in the district GatewayJFK has hired Dieusita Jean (pronounced as Jer-see-ta) to fill the newly created position of Operations Manager. Jean was born and raised in Southeast Queens and has direct experience that will help her quickly adapt to the role, including a history of work in communications, event planning, and coordinating services with City agencies as a staff member for Assembly Member Clyde Vanel of Queens Village.

The website features images from local photographer Roland Pugh and an updated webform so stakeholders can Report Quality of Life Issues to help us keep the neighborhood, safe, clean, and a great place to live, work and invest.

Responsibilities will include overseeing contracted vendors, collecting and managing data and analytics related to public space, and working with businesses, residents and City agencies to improve quality of life metrics in the area.

Monday September 9th, the NYPD will be coming to the GatewayJFK district to hold a special meeting where businesses and residents can share their concerns with leaders from the Queens 105th Precinct. Neighborhood Coordination Officers (NCO) Kurt Benjamin and Luis Benzant will be joined by Commanding Officers from the precinct and New York City Councilmember Donovan Richards to hear your concerns.
