Illegal Truck & Commercial Vehicle Parking

Illegal Truck & Commercial Vehicle Parking in Queens NY

GatewayJFK has joined with partner organizations, industry, and government to seek solutions that address illegal truck and commercial vehicle parking issues that negatively impact quality of life for the Southeast Queens resident community as well as daily logistics operations within GatewayJFK. The issue is represented by both ‘local’ and ‘long-haul’ trucks illegally parked (over-night or abandoned) on City streets, particularly in residential neighborhoods. The vehicles include the 53 feet tractor-trailers, trailer unit only, delivery trucks, “dollar” vans, school buses, and private EMS vehicles. The air and noise pollution along with reduced parking spaces overall makes for a very challenging situation for everyone.

The collective organizations and civic associations have formed the Queens Community Task Force Against Illegal Truck Parking, providing a forum to work towards identifying holistic and sustainable solutions that will benefit logistics, trucking and delivery companies, commercial businesses, residents and the broader community.
