CONSTRUCTION ALERT:Sewer Repair on 157th St.

 

Beginning Tuesday, October 9,  2018, and continuing for approximately one month*, the NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will be performing sewer work on 157th Street between Rockaway Boulevard & 146th Avenue.

WORK HOURS: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
WORK DURATION: Approximately one month*

COMMUNITY IMPACTS:

WHAT ARE THE HOURS OF CONSTRUCTION? 

  • Construction will typically occur Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00am and 3:30pm. However, the contractor may go beyond those hours (but no later than 7:00) in order to complete certain work operations within the same day. 

WILL MY WATER OR ELECTRIC BE TURNED OFF? 

  • No, water and electricity will not be impacted during the installation of the storm sewer.

CURBSIDE PARKING 

  • Parking will be temporarily eliminated in order to facilitate work operations. Areas where constriction is taking place will have No Parking on Monday through Friday from 6.00 am to 6.00 pm. Please keep an eye out for signs in the area to designate where and when you can park.

DETOURS/STREET CLOSURES 

  • A foreman, super and flagger will be working on accommodating local traffic and commercial use traffic. Please speak with anyone on site from hours of 7 AM- 4 PM to accommodate your businesses specific concerns.

PEDESTRIAN ACCESS TO HOMES AND BUILDINGS 

  • Access will be maintained at all times.

DRIVEWAY/LOADING DOCK ACCESS 

  • Restrictions will be minimized as best as possible and at the end of any given day the driveways will be left accessible. Please speak with anyone on site from hours of 7 AM- 4 PM to accommodate your businesses specific concerns.
