What is the Annual Meeting?
As a NYS Not-For-Profit organization, the By-Laws of GatewayJFK require an Annual Meeting of all District Members represented by commercial and residential property owners and tenants.
What is the Purpose of the Annual Meeting?
The purpose of the Annual Meeting is to provide all members opportunity to participate in the governance of GatewayJFK and to provide transparency and democratic governance of the organization.
All unregistered and registered members are invited to the Annual Meeting to:
Be updated on GatewayJFK’s programming, advocacy, new initiatives, budget priorities, and financial report;
Registered District Members will have the opportunity to:
Elect the Board of Directors
Vote on other matters that need the (dis)approval of the entire membership
The composition of the GatewayJFK Board of Directors is as follows:
Class A: Property Owners
Class A1: Commercial | Mixed-Use | Vacant Commercial Privately-Held - 8 Members
Class A2: Resident Property Owners - 5 Members
Class B: Commercial Tenants - 5 Members
Class C: Residential Tenants – 1 Member
Class D: Represents ex officio appointees: Mayor of the City of New York, Comptroller of the City of New York, Queens Borough President, New York City Council member representing the District or, if there is more than one (1) Council Member representing the District, then, as determined by the Speaker of the New York City Council.
Class E (Non-Voting): Persons or entities with significant interests within the District.
The Board of Directors meets monthly and has several active committees including, but not limited to, Finance, Audit, Governance, Streetscape and Community Support.
